Key Responsibilities

1. Personal Care

• Assist the patient with bathing, grooming, toileting, and dressing.
• Support mobility: helping the patient walk, transfer from bed to chair, or reposition safely.
• Feed or assist the patient with meals as needed.
• Maintain personal hygiene and provide skincare as required.

2. Health & Safety Monitoring

• Observe and report changes in the patient’s condition to the family or nurse.
• Check vital signs if trained (temperature, pulse, blood pressure).
• Administer medications under supervision (if allowed by regulation or caregiver instructions).

3. Household & Environmental Support

• Maintain cleanliness of the patient’s room, bedding, and personal items.
• Assist with light housekeeping tasks related to patient care.
• Ensure a safe environment by removing hazards and organizing essential items.

4. Emotional & Social Support

• Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional comfort.
• Encourage patient participation in simple activities, physical exercises, or hobbies (as appropriate).
• Maintain the patient’s privacy, dignity, and respect at all times.

5. Additional Duties

• Assist with scheduling appointments or accompanying the patient if required.
• Prepare simple meals following dietary instructions.
• Any other tasks assigned by the family or supervising nurse related to patient care.

Qualifications

• Certified GDA / Caregiver certificate (preferred).
• Previous experience in home care or patient support is an advantage.
• Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting, turning, and assisting mobility.
• Basic knowledge of hygiene, infection control, and patient safety.
• Good communication skills and empathy.
• Trustworthy, responsible, and able to work independently.

Work Schedule

• Live-in or shift-based (morning/day/night) depending on family requirements.
